My guess is she meant control panel ,= settings but yes she is not clear at all Yes pads can be shut off in BIOS, some times, others not. The pad goes off line if the external mouse is attached, mine has both mode, yah DELL is best. Gateway went insolvent and the name (only) was sold to for sure any relic Gateways, not sold here now, for ages.
